How Do You Know Me ?

Standing on the ledge
Of reason, sharp edge
To treason
A swarm of bees
Blown across the seas
Into the wrong bloody season !

And the humdrum machine continues
Making residues
Odd perfumes and cents
Of dollar bills and rents
And cheaper thrills
Give rise to sharper trills
Condescending all the while

Are you keening at the words
Disbelieving of their meaning
Are we weaning off mother’s milk
And graduating into silk
What others are there of their ilk ?
What lies are round the bend ?
So why do you judge me ?
Do you know really me ?
Am I here to show me ?
Are your wits truly at an end ?

No, I think I do
Know thyself
No boundaries
Know all things are true
No epithets know marmosets
Know there are limits to love
But no happiness
Know limits to imagination
No kindness, tolerance and patience
Know all there is…… to ‘no’.

And then I will smile.
