fantasy or fallacy ? ah, such is life…

Ah, what a a cynical, cyclical
Comical, conical
Tour de farce this could be !

From land to land
And sea to sea
We search for our true love
Sometimes constantly

Sometimes hopelessly

We follow someone’s advice
Which might be good
Or founded on avarice
And clever we are not
For we all make mistakes
Not once but twice or thrice

However we get
To wherever it is we are going
Or coming

(it depends on how you see it)

 The result is dating
And then the mating
Followed by conjugating
And then, after a time, the hating
For we’re all debating
And rating
Whether success is taking
The mickey from past grating

Of which we’ve all made a few
Told lies, held back what is true
Blurred in others’ points of view
And cannot renew
What once we knew

All this is sad
Not necessarily bad
It should make us somewhat glad
But it constantly drives us mad
That it is not a passing fad !
