when leaving

Thanks for Merav for providing the inspiration for this scribbling today:

When you leave
Do not grieve
Close the door
Do not hide the tears that have fallen on the floor
Times were good, times were bad
Memories pleasant, memories sad
But we all must move on

And the cadences of a poem or a song
Fall gently on the ground.
The wheels of life continue to go around
And as I look up to the stars in the sky
I try hard not to cry
Because I still look towards the path
And hope that you will one day soon, you will return
